I am a 1995 graduate of Lumen Christi High School, a 2000 grad of the Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology, Elementary and Special Education, and a 2006 graduate of the Spring Arbor University with a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction. I have taken additional college credits in order to continue learning about my ever changing field.
Prior to joining the Western “family,” I taught grades 6-8 for two years in Kentwood Public Schools in Grand Rapids, MI. I am currently in my 9th year at Western. Why do I love teaching? I have experienced incredible moments with kids and have built lifelong relationships with students. I love witnessing and being a part of knowledge and recognition. Learning and knowing my students is such a pleasure, I will continue to do it with joy and exuberance. Teaching is so much more than test scores.
